SHOWERED WITH LOVE

I am going to miss this Pleased As Punch DSP (Item # 153558) very much. I have had so much fun playing with this DSP, it is easy to make quick cards with it since we just punch the images out, and the coordinating colors are perfect for spring (Balmy Blue, Basic Gray, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Whisper White). Keep in mind that it is only available to order through March 31st, so don’t miss out on stocking up on it while you can.

These rainboots make me smile! I can remember as a kid running through the gutters splashing in the rain and having a blast, oh how I miss those days of not having a care in the world.

These flowers are so bright and cheery, I colored them using Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, and Old Olive Stampin Blends. The rainboots are colored with Balmy Bue and Daffodil Delight. Once you have the boots and flowers colored and cut out, then the rest of the card is a breeze to finish. If are wanting to make a few of these cards, stamp a sheet of the boot and flowers and color the whole sheet at once, then you will have them all ready to complete.

Until next time, stay safe and well.

Happy Stamping!

LETS SHARE OUR LOVE WITH OTHERS

How are you all doing? My family is doing good so far, fingers and toes are crossed. I have been re-organizing and cleaning my craft room while I have some extra time on my hands, and while cleaning, I realized just how many cards I have lying around, either from classes, blog posts, or Paper Pumpkin Kits. It got me thinking that with all the family and friends I have spread throughout the US, I need to mail them one of my cards. This was a perfect way to show them all I was thinking about them!

This idea got me thinking a little further. I would love to send a card to everyone, but I don’t have that much time, Hopefully, but I can brighten a few lives, one card at a time. So before I mailed out my cards, I created a note to place in each one asking everyone to pass the card/or a note along to someone they love, and so on, and so on.  This way, we are spreading a little joy one card at a time!

Here is a copy of the note I added to each card.

If you are a crafter, I would ask you to join me in spreading the log distance hugs the best way we know how, by making our beautiful cards. What a perfect way to reach out and share a memory or a laugh with the people we love during these uncertain times, let’s show them we remember and care.

Share the cards you made with the hashtag #cardsarehugstoo

Be safe and well.

Happy Stamping!

NEW SALE-A-BRATION ITEMS AVAILABLE

SENDING HEALING HUGS

So I thought I was handling all of these changes to our new normal pretty good, but I am finding that I am struggling to write my blog/FB/IG posts in light of it all.  Before the big CV, we were all figuring out our next Stampin’ Up! order so we can get our hands on the newly released Sale-A-Bration products, and now we are worried about getting the food items we need, homeschooling kids or picking our college students from campus,  worrying about our loved ones getting sick, how can we take care of everyone if we get sick and how to pay our bills if they shut our workplaces down. Pretty heavy stuff on our minds right now. I have found a couple of things that are helping me stay relaxed is, reading a book, taking a walk and making cards. I have decided that since making cards is helping me be distracted from things that are out of my control, I will be making a bunch of cards and mailing them out, to let people know I am thinking of them and that I care. Here is a card I made to mail out today.

I die-cut a bunch of poppies and leaves from the Poppy Moments Dies and glued them together and started to play with different layouts. When I had a layout I liked, I then designed the cardbase layers.

In this photo, you can see more of the poppy die-cut details. To glue the poppies together, I just put glue on the center of the poppy detail and left the edges free of glue for a bit more dimension. I bet you are thinking, how could I have missed Rich Razzleberry bakers twine? Well you didn’t, I made it! To create bakers twine in any color, all you need is a Stampin Blend in your desired color and a silicone crafting mat. Just run your Blends along the twine, making sure you are rotating the twine to color all sides. Let this dry for five minutes, and it will be ready to use. I always make a little extra colored twine, then I wrap the twine around a small piece of coordinating cardstock to help me know which color it is. Your welcome!

Now I am off to mail this beautiful card and start making a bunch of cards to brighten a few more friends days. If you have a few minutes, please consider making and sending cards. Let everyone know that while we are all concerned, and a bit scared of the uncertainty in our lives right now, we can still reach out and share a memory or a laugh with our loved ones and friends, letting them know we care.

Be safe and well and keep stamping!

WE MAY NOT HAVE ANY TOILET PAPER, BUT WE CAN CRAFT!

With all the uncertainty and craziness going on in the world due to the coronavirus outbreak, we do have something to look forward to…time to focus on our families and CRAFTING! So dig out all of the projects you haven’t quite finished and get crafting. And if the kiddos are home with you, then gather them around the kitchen table and give them a project of their own to do. Being creative is a good way to calm and soothe your spirits and right now I think we all can use a dose of calmness in light of all the stress we are under with the COVID 19 situation. So sit back, craft and make the most out of having uninterrupted time with our families.

For today’s projects, I used the Timeless Tulips stamp set, Pleased As Punch DSP & So Very Vellum SDSP. I started out by watercoloring a background for the tulips using the same ink color as the vellum I used for each card. Since Purple Posy ink is unavailable, I used Highland Heather ink for the Purple Posey. Once the watercolor paper is dry, then I stamped the tulips stems and leaves. I punched out a bunch of tulips from a sheet of the Pleased As Punch DSP to add to the tulips stems. Add a layer of the vellum to a cardbase, then glue down the watercolor paper to the striped patterned Pleased As Punch DSP and add this to the cardbase with dimensionals. Add your sentiment and a bow made with the Linen Thread and you are done.

This card, I used the Soft Sea Foam vellum and Soft Sea Foam re-inker to watercolor the background for the tulip.

This card, I used the Pool Party vellum and Pool Party re-inker to watercolor the background for the tulip.

This card, I used the Purple Posy vellum and Highland Heather re-inker to watercolor the background for the tulip. Highland Heather is the perfect alternative for Purple Posy. If I am wanting a lighter purple then the full Highland Heather color for a stamped image, I will stamp the ink off once on scratch paper before stamping my image and it will be super close to Purple Posy.

Keep in mind that both the Pleased As Punch DSP and So Very Vellum SDSP (free with an order of $50 in merchandise) are only available until March 31. You can click on the image below to add it to your cart.
