With all the uncertainty and craziness going on in the world due to the coronavirus outbreak, we do have something to look forward to…time to focus on our families and CRAFTING! So dig out all of the projects you haven’t quite finished and get crafting. And if the kiddos are home with you, then gather them around the kitchen table and give them a project of their own to do. Being creative is a good way to calm and soothe your spirits and right now I think we all can use a dose of calmness in light of all the stress we are under with the COVID 19 situation. So sit back, craft and make the most out of having uninterrupted time with our families.
For today’s projects, I used the Timeless Tulips stamp set, Pleased As Punch DSP & So Very Vellum SDSP. I started out by watercoloring a background for the tulips using the same ink color as the vellum I used for each card. Since Purple Posy ink is unavailable, I used Highland Heather ink for the Purple Posey. Once the watercolor paper is dry, then I stamped the tulips stems and leaves. I punched out a bunch of tulips from a sheet of the Pleased As Punch DSP to add to the tulips stems. Add a layer of the vellum to a cardbase, then glue down the watercolor paper to the striped patterned Pleased As Punch DSP and add this to the cardbase with dimensionals. Add your sentiment and a bow made with the Linen Thread and you are done.
This card, I used the Soft Sea Foam vellum and Soft Sea Foam re-inker to watercolor the background for the tulip.
This card, I used the Pool Party vellum and Pool Party re-inker to watercolor the background for the tulip.
This card, I used the Purple Posy vellum and Highland Heather re-inker to watercolor the background for the tulip. Highland Heather is the perfect alternative for Purple Posy. If I am wanting a lighter purple then the full Highland Heather color for a stamped image, I will stamp the ink off once on scratch paper before stamping my image and it will be super close to Purple Posy.
