BEE-UTIFUL THANK YOU

Welcome back! It was a busy weekend at my house. We were moving furniture and clearing out the extra refrigerator in my garage. Whew, that was tiring work. I like making cards much better! This card uses the Golden Honey Specialty DSP that you can get for free during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 order. And I mean, besides the Basic Black cardstock and the sentiment, everything else was die cut/cut from the DSP, even the bees!!!

Stampin’ Up! has made our paper crafting easy yet again by creating DSP that matches the coordinating die. All we have to do is die-cut some bees or flowers from the DSP, add a cardbase, add a sentiment, and embellishments and you are done.  That’s what I did on this card. I die-cut the bees, honeycomb, a gold heart, cut a strip of DSP, tied a ribbon and punched out the sentiment that I stamped. Bam, you are done.

In this picture, you can see some of the beautiful gold foil detail on the DSP. This paper is so easy to work with. I have seen cards where someone had used a brayer to color the white stripes for a different look and it was pretty. The possibilities are endless.

If you would like to get your hands on this DSP, email me your $50 order or click on the Shop Online link at the top of this page to place your order.

THOUGHTFUL BLOOMS – SAB CARD

It’s almost Friday! Are you all enjoying Sale-A-Bration so far? I know I am, with the help of this stamp set and matching punch. I love the colors in this card, it is just so spring-ish. I combined the ever beautiful Bird Ballad DSP from the Annual Catalog along with, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, So Saffron and Old Olive.

I stamped five flowers in each of these colors, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and So Saffron. Then I punched them out using the coordinating, Small Bloom Punch, also in the SAB catalog.

A small tip for when you are stamping the flower vines. I laid my DSP where I wanted it, then lightly traced with a pencil. That way I knew how far out to stamp the vines. Once I was done stamping the vines, I erased the pencil lines and continued with my card. I then glued down half of the punched flowers, and popped up the rest with dimensionals. To finish off the card, I added rhinestones to the center of each flower. It is a beautiful card, right?

Do you want to make this card? You can have both, the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Set and the Small Bloom Punch free if you place an order for $150 in merchandise. E-mail or click on the Shop Online button at the top of this page to place your order today.

THIS IS MUCH BETTER

On Friday I posted another card using this same layout and The Gang’s All Meer stamp set. To say the least, I wasn’t really happy with the way the card turned out. So, this weekend I played around to see if I could come up with a card I liked…and here it is! You can see in this picture how the coloring in the DSP helps the images stand out better in the new card on the left and not looked washed out, like Friday’s card on the right.

I colored the meerkats the same, using the Crumb Cake Blends. The hats are stamped in Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Pacific Point, Blushing Bride, and Coastal Cabana.

The only thing I change when I colored the cactus, was the color of the flower. I used Calypso Coral Blends instead of Flirty Flamingo. I then colored the flower using a Clear Wink of Stella pen.

This new version is much better right? I think I forgot to mention earlier that the DSP I used is Follow Your Art DSP. You can find it in the Annual Catalog on page 165. I try to utilize the papers from the Annual Catalog during this Sale-A-Bration promotion because they get forgotten during this crazy period.

Ta-Ta for now.

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A CARD YOU JUST WERE NOT HAPPY WITH?

I am going, to be honest with you all. I struggled with this card, big time. While I like the concept and layout, I am not happy with how it looks when I take pictures, it looks washed out. What are your thoughts?

The gecko in this stamp set is so stinking cute. How could you not use him in every project? I used my Stampin Blends to color these images. I did fussy cut the gecko and cactus.

After I colored the cactus, I used the Clear Wink of Stella to add some shimmer to the cactus flower. You can see it in this picture below.

Maybe I just need to swap out the DSP to a pattern that is a little darker, then maybe it won’t look so washed out. This weekend I am going to work on a new color combination and post my new card next week and then we can see what you think.

Do you want to get this stamp set for free? All you need to do is place an order for $50 in merchandise and you can get this stamp set FREE! Send me an email or click on the shop online tab at the top of the page to place an order.

PEACEFUL POPPIES ELEMENTS

Hello Everyone! I am always on the lookout for products that help me create quick and easy cards. Well, the Peaceful Poppies Elements in the Peaceful Poppies Suite is just that product.

I used the ever stunning Peaceful Poppies DSP as the background layer (you don’t need much more when using this paper). I Die-cut the two labels from the Painted Label Dies, one in Old Olive and the other in Whisper White for the sentiment. I added ribbon, then the flower from the Peaceful Poppies Elements. Voila I am done.

The Peaceful Poppies Elements are a really good deal. For $6.50 you get 8 total sheets.

* 2 sheets black die-cut elements with black foil prints: labels, banners, borders
* 2 sheets white thick cardstock die cuts with colored prints: poppies
* 2 sheets vellum die cuts with white prints: poppies and leaves
* 2 sheets watercolor paper die cuts with clear UV prints for watercoloring: poppies and leaves

That is a lot of product to work with!

I am very happy with the way this card turned out. The colors are so beautiful! Make sure you added these versatile Peaceful Poppies Elements to your next order, then post a picture in the comments showing us what you created with them.
