BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP

Thank you for joining me today! I find myself reaching for this Beautiful Friendship stamp more and more, and it never fails me when I need a little beauty in my day. For this card, I paired Blackberry Bliss, and the Old Olive polka dot patterned DSP from the Best Dressed DSP Pack.

BeautifulFriendship_Card2_SoVeryHappyToKnowYou_LoriSkinner

When stamping the bouquet for this card, I used the masking technique. After I stamped the first flower, that is when I stamp the flower image onto a post-it-note and cut it out, so when I went to stamp the next flower, I placed the cutout post-it-note over my first stamped image to protect it, and now it looks like the image is layered behind the first flower I stamped. Continue with stamping the rest of the flowers, masking as you go. I did the same masking when I stamped the leaves.

Now it’s your turn to drag out your favorite stamp set and give the masking technique a try. Once you have completed your card, share it with me by emailing it, or add it to the comments below, I would love to see your projects.

Happy Stamping!

STAMPIN’ UP!’S DAY OF SERVICE

Every year Stampin’ Up! picks an organization, and they complete a service project that will benefit the chosen organization. In the past, the day of service coincides with one of the incentive trips and are performed in the country that is being visited. Due to COVID-19, Stampin’ Up! had to re-think the day of service. They have announced that the Stampin’ Up! Day of Service will be Thursday, 21 May! With current social distancing practices, employees are participating in Day of Service virtually, which provides the opportunity to include demonstrators and customers in Stampin’ Up!’s service activity. For this year’s Day of Service, They will use the Share Sunshine PDF Download to make and send cards to loved ones, frontline workers, etc. As part of our Day of Service, They are providing each employee with the Share Sunshine PDF Download and will contribute $12 usd per employee to the COVID-19 response funds, as part of our COVID-19 giveback, resulting in a company donation of $5,820 usd for Day of Service!

Watch the video by clicking on the picture below from our Stampin’ Up! CEO, Sara Douglass (she starts talking about the Day Of Service about 5:54 in the video)

Sara FB Page

They invite demonstrators to participate and encouraged us to share the event with our customers so they can join the fun! Stampin’ Up! employees, demonstrators, and customers will be gathering virtually for our Day of Service craft party on 21 May at 2:00 pm (MT) to make our cards together in a Facebook Live on  Sara Douglass stampin’ up ceo Facebook page. If you are unable to participate in the live craft party, the replay will be available to view any time on Sara’s Facebook page.

To follow along during the live craft party, you will need card bases, Designer Series Paper, a printed copy of the Share Sunshine PDF Download (which can be purchased HERE), embellishments, adhesive, and scissors or a Paper Trimmer. To make it easy for everyone to participate, they’ve also created an instruction sheet for Sara’s four-step cards, which includes a cut map for your Designer Series Paper (any Designer Series Paper will work). Note: A full package of 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper will be enough to make four kits (20 cards). You can find the instruction sheet here. They encourage you to come prepared with pre-cut Designer Series Paper! Tomorrow at 2 pm MT, Sara will be doing another Facebook Live to show you how she cut the paper for these projects.

Here is my version of the Day of Service Projects. I used the Woven Threads DSP, Butterfly Duet Punch, and the Free As A Bird Stamp Set for my sentiments. By using Sara’s Instruction sheet, you can utilize any DSP or Stamp Set you have to make cards to donate to your favorite organization or share a little sunshine with your family and friends by sending them a card.

Don’t forget to watch Sara’s Facebook live tomorrow at 2:00 pm MT, then join her live to put your projects together. I would love to see the project you make, feel free to email them to me or add them to the comments for this post.

Happy Stamping!

A LITTLE MORE FROM THE COUNTRY CLUB SUITE

Hello! I have some cute cards for you today. Can I say “cute” cards when they are guy card? Well, I guess I do, guys can be cute, so why can’t their cards! As I was saying, I continued working with the County Club Suite of products from Stampin’ Up! and came up with a couple more fun cards to show you.

Clubhouse_AllThreeProjects_LoriSkinner_StampinUp

Here are all three of the projects I designed using the Country Club Suite. If you missed it, the Father’s Day card was highlighted in my May 12th blog post.

Clubhouse_GreatestGuy_LoriSkinner_StampinUp

In this card, I used a card base of Crumb Cake (my favorite go-to cardstock) and added a layer of Night of navy, that is embossed using the Absolutely Argyle 3D folder, and to that, I add a DSP strip. I stamped the golfer in Basic Black and die-cut him out with the Golf Club dies, then colored the image with Shaded Spruce, Night of Navy, and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.

To finish the card, Die-cut a golf ball and a piece of grass, and glue them down. I then stamped the sentiment onto Crumb Cake using Night of Navy and cut it by hand, I then stamped the same sentiment in Garden Green on Whisper White and used the banner die and cut it out and layered it on the Crumb Cake sentiment layer and adhere using dimensionals.

I LOVE this card! The colors and DSP pattern combinations are Magnifique! Start with a Garden Green cardbase, and add a layer, Night of Navy, and DSP. To that, you will add the two DSP strips.

Stamp the golf ball on the tee image in Basic Gray and the Happy Birthday in Night of Navy. Now die-cut the golfer, the golf clubs, the horseshoe wreath thing, the stamped sentiment, and the golf ball on the tee you stamped. The only items I used dimensionals on are the golf ball on the tee and the sentiment, and all the rest are glued down. Now tie a bow with the Night of Navy twine, and you are done.

I did not get a chance to write up the full instructions with dimension yet, but I will have them up by this weekend, and I will edit this post to add the link to the documents.

Click on the Shop Online tab at the top of this page to order your Country Club Suite before it is gone forever.

Until next time.

Happy Stamping!

CLUBHOUSE FATHER’S DAY

Hey all, I hope everyone had an enjoyable Mother’s Day, mine was low key, I talked to all my kids, then started reorganizing my crafting space, again.

Clubhouse_FathersDay_LoriSkinner_StampinUp

Now I am getting ready for Father’s Day. I thought the bright, fun colors in the Country Club Suite would be the perfect place to begin. I started with a Garden Green 11″ x 4 1/4″ cardbase, that I scored at 5 1/2″. To that, I glued a 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ strip of Night of Navy. I took a piece of 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″ DSP and glued it to a 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ Basic Gray layer, then I tied a piece of Night of Navy twine around the DSP layer and tied a bow. I added the DSP layer to the cardbase using dimensionals, making sure to center it on the cardbase. Once the DSP is attached to the cardbase, adjust the twine, centering it on the Night of Navy cardstock strip. I stamped the Happy Father’s Day sentiment in Garden Green ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut it out using the Golf Club Dies, also die-cut the U shaped filigree in Night of Navy. To put together the sentiment layer, you will need to punch out a 2″ circle in Basic Gray and cut out the Crushed Curry banner from the DSP. Glue the Crushed Curry banner to the center of the Basic Gray 2″ circle, then adhere the sentiment with a dimensional over the center of the banner. Now glue down the Night of Navy filagree. Punch out a Poppy Parade Timeless Label piece and cut it in half and glue to each edge of the underside of the Basic Gray circle. These layers will be attached to the DSP using dimensionals. Once I completed the card, I thought it still needs something else, so I cut out a golf ball from the DSP and added a half of a mini dimensional and adhered it to the center of the filigree. Now it was perfect!

Don’t you just love this card! The colors in the DSP are a joy to work with. I will most definitely have a few more cards to design for another post later this week. If you want to get your hands on these products, keep in mind that this County Club Suite is on the retired list and will be gone after June 2nd if it doesn’t sell out beforehand.

Ta-ta for now,

Happy Stamping!
