Hey Everyone! I was super excited about the August Paper Pumpkin Kit! I love this kit’s fall colors and gift bags, but the bonus was all the extra pieces they gave you. You are making six gift bags in this kit, but you have enough extra to make 12 bags! I decided to make a few alternate cards using the leftover stuff from the kit and other supplies to show you what you can do.
Alt Card #1
Cardstock Sizes:
8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Crumb Cake for cardbase &
4″ x 5 1/4″ for embossed Pinewood Plank layer
1 1/2″ x 5″ Pretty Peacock
(2) Sprig Punch pieces in Gold Foil Sheet
All other supplies are from the Paper Pumpkin Kit:
(2) Vellum Leaves
6″ Crushed Curry Seam Binding Ribbon
1/2″ piece of rainbow leaf tag piece (I just cut
this in half down to the middle point).
(1) small banner tag
Emboss the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Crumb Cake layer and glue it to the card base.
Cut the end of the Pretty Peacock cardstock using the rainbow leaf tag as a guide. Glue down to embossed layer, then glue down the rainbow leaf tag.
Stamp sentiment in Merry Merlot and adhere with dimensionals.
The leaf cluster was made by cutting both the gold sprigs into two pieces. Take the two vellum leaves and glue them together with a glue dot. Then, using glue dots, adhere three of the gold sprigs to the back side of the vellum leaves. Tie a bow with the ribbon and adhere it with a glue dot.
Alt Card # 2
Cardstock Sizes:
4 1/4″ x 11″ Thick Whisper White for card base
4″ x 5 1/4″ Merry Merlot for Stylish Scroll embossed card layer
4″ Whisper White Flax Ribbon
All other supplies are from the Paper Pumpkin Kit:
(1) Crushed Curry Wreath
(1) large Crumb Cake Tag
12″ Linen Thread
Gold Sequins
Emboss the Merry Merlot layer and glue it down to the card base.
Using the glue dots, adhere the Flax Ribbon to the embossed layer.
Add Gold Sequins to the Crushed Curry Wreath. Using two pieces of Linen Thread, tie a bow and adhere to the top of the wreath with a glue dot. Use dimensionals and center over the top of the Linen Thread.
Stamp sentiment on the tag and attach with dimensionals on the part that touches the embossed layer and a glue dot where it touches the wreath.
Alt Card #3
Cardstock Sizes:
4 1/4″ x 11″ Crumb Cake scored at 5 1/2″ for card base &
4″ x 5 1/4″ for sponged card layer
3 1/4″ x 1 3/4″ Merry Merlot for the largest Ornate Frames Die
8″ Rococo Rose Gathered Ribbon
Leaf pattern mask from Basic Pattern Decorative Masks
Crumb Cake Ink
Sponge Dauber
Pretty Peacock Ink
With Love & Sympathy sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set
All other supplies are from the Paper Pumpkin Kit:
(1) Rainbow leaf banner tag
(1) Whisper White banner Tag
(2) Vellum leaf clusters
(1) Pretty Peacock leaf punch piece
(1) small Crumb Cake banner tag
Using the Leaf pattern mask from Basic Pattern Decorative Masks, sponge on Crumb Cake ink onto the 4″ x 4 /14″ card layer, making sure the pattern is centered. Attach to the card base with dimensions.
Glue the Whisper White banner tag while centering it onto the rainbow banner tag. You can then glue the tag layer to the Crumb Cake card layer.
I die-cut the largest Ornate Frames die with the Merry Merlot cardstock. I used glue dots to make the leaf cluster, then attached it to the back side of the Merry Merlot die piece and glued it down to the Whisper White banner tag.
Stamp the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink onto the small banner tag and attach it to the center of the die piece with dimensionals.
Tie a bow with the Rococo Rose ribbon and attach with a glue dot.
Alt Card #4
Cardstock Sizes:
8 1/2″ x 5 /12″ Pretty Peacock for card base scored at 4 1/4″ &
4″ x 5 1/4″ stamped card layer
Pretty Peacock Ink
Tear Tape
All other supplies are from the Paper Pumpkin Kit:
(1) Rainbow leaf banner tag
(1) Merry Merlot circle cut in half
(1) Rounded edge Crumb Cake tag
16″ Linen Thread
12″ Crushed Curry Seam Binding Ribbon
Gold sequin
Stamp the leaf cluster image in Pretty Peacock ink in a random pattern onto the Pretty Peacock card layer and glue the layer to the card base.
Glue the Merry Merlot half-circle pieces to the right edge of the banner tag. Adhere to the card base with dimensionals.
Stamp the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink and add a Gold sequin to the letter y’s tip. I added a piece of tear tape to the back bottom edge of the sentiment tag and gathered the Crushed Curry ribbon using additional glue dots to secure the ribbon in place as I was making the folds. Wrap the Linen Thread around your fingers three times and adhere it to the back of the sentiment tag with glue dots, then adhere the completed tag with dimensionals to the rainbow banner tag.
Those were fun cards to put together. If you want to see what all the fun is about, head over to my Paper Pumpkin page and sign up now!
Happy Stamping!
