Hello everyone. I am excited to share something new with you today. After creating the color challenges for my own blog, I have found myself wanting to participate in challenges as well. I did some searching and came across the talented ladies over at TGIF Challenges and thought I would give it a try. So, here is the card I am showcasing for the TGIF Sketch Challenge #298. I am in love with this card! Doesn’t it remind you of the vintage paintings on velvet?
This card has minimal stamping, if you can believe it. Only the sentiment is stamped with black ink. The flowers were all cut from the Flowers & Fields Designer Series Paper. Hard to believe, right. To create this card, I started with a Basic Black background that I glued down to a Shaded Spruce layer. I fussy cut the large flower cluster from the DSP along with a few other smaller individual flowers. I glued down the large flower bouquet to the black cardstock and added the Shaded Spruce sentiment layer directly onto the flowers. To finish the bouquet, I added a few of the single flowers using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Once I was happy with the floral layout, I stuck down the layers to a Basic Black cardbase to complete the card.
I had so much fun playing along with this week’s TGIF Challenge #TGIFC298 that I think I might participate a couple of times a month just for fun!
