I AM GRATEFUL FOR YOU!

Hello everyone, and welcome back! Today I have another card for you that I created using the Beautiful Autumn Bundle.  I love Fall colors! I am a warm color girl, so I am in heaven to have a warm and cozy color palate in the new DSP and accessories for designing a project.

BeautifulAutumn_Grateful_Masuline_LoriSkinner_ThisCraftersDream

This project has an easy layout that highlights any DSP you are working with. I paired the Guilded Autumn Specialty Decorative Paper, along with the Bronze Brushed Metallic Cardstock, that I punch out using the new Lovely Label Punch to create the decorative edges on the metallic paper.

I bet you think I stamped those leaves and acorns, right? Nope, I used the Autumn Punch Pack and cut the leaves and acorns from a sheet of the DSP. Stampin’ Up! is brilliant to make card making so easy!

Well, that’s all I have, for now, thanks for stopping by. Until next time.

Happy Stamping!

TRYING TO GET IN THE FALL MOOD

Hey everyone, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Mine was excellent, we did a little yard work, and I worked on some projects for upcoming posts. I’m not going to lie. I was struggling to get in the fall spirit when it is still hot and summery outside. After a couple of hours and putting on Four Weddings and A Funeral (British movies always have cold weather in them, works every time!), I was able to get my mojo going.  For my blog post today, I created a masculine card using the Beautiful Autumn Bundle from the new 2020 Aug – Dec Mini Catalog.

BeautifulAutumn_HeyThere_Masuline_LoriSkinner_ThisCraftersDream

For this card, I knew I wanted to work with the striped DSP pattern from the Gilded Autumn Specialty Decorative Paper, so  I pulled out the colors that coordinate with it. Those colors are Mint Macaron, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, and Crumb Cake. I started with a Mint Macaron cardbase and added a layer of Early Espresso. To that, I added a 2″ strip of the Crumb Cake DSP that has Early Espresso ink splatters on it. Since I knew I was working with a 1″ piece of the striped DSP, I stamped my top sentiment, then laid the DSP strip down below the stamped sentiment to see where I wanted to stamp the send sentiment. Once I had that decided, I colored my stamp and stamped the image. Sometimes when I use markers to color an image, I will use my Stamparatus so I can recolor the stamp several times if I don’t like the ink coverage.

To achieve the two-tone look in the leaves and acorns, I first stamped the outside line images using Mint Macaron and Cajun Craze for the leaves and Crumb Cake and Early Espresso for the acorn.  Then to get the lighter ink color, I stamped the solid background into the ink, then stamped off the ink twice before stamping the image. This way, I get the look of the two-tone images, but I am still using one color of ink.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

I am so happy that the new 2020 Aug-Dec Mini Catalog went live on Tuesday. Now I can show you all the new products I have been waiting to play with! This first card I made, I knew I HAD to use the Life Is Beautiful Stamp Set, which was inspired by Million Sales Achiever LeeAnn Greff. I know a Million in sales, that is incredible, right (#mygoal)? I love, love, love this stamp set!

LifeIsBeautiful_Hello_Autum_LoriSkinner_ThisCraftersDream

I started with a Cinnamon Cider cardbase that I stamped the leaves in a random pattern using Cinnamon Cinder Ink. I glued down a strip of Shaded Spruce cardstock to the cardbase, then glued down a piece of Cinnamon Cider Ribbon, then on top of that, I glued a piece of Braided Linen Trim. I added a bit of Plaid Tidings DSP  that I adhered with dimensionals since I am layering the DSP over the ribbon. Otherwise, it wouldn’t lie flat.  I stamped the tree trunk in Early Espresso Ink, then added some leaves using Shaded Spruce ink. To give the leaves a little dimension, I stamped off the ink on half of the stamped images. Stamp the sentiment in Cinnamon Cider, then adhere the completed stamped image to the DSP with dimensionals as well. And lastly, attach a bow and sit back and enjoy for work of art!

Don’t you love the artwork in the stamp set? This set can take you throughout the year and help you create a card for any occasion. I have a few more projects to show you that I created using this stamp set, but I may create a class using it instead. Not sure still deciding. What do you think, projects, or a class?

Ok, my friends, I am signing off for now. Let me know if you have any questions about the new catalog or if you are having issues utilizing the new online store.

Happy Stamping!

Here are a few videos highlighting a small sampling of the product suites available in this exciting new mini catalog.

I am going to admit the thought of the upcoming holidays has not even entered my mind with everything going on in the world right now. But after watching these videos, I can almost start to get excited about making Christmas cards.  Did you notice those Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems in the Snowflake Splendor Suite! They are gorgeous!

A couple of other products that stand out to me in the new mini catalog is the Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ DSP (pg 57), this decorative paper is so versatile. It can be used for any occasion beyond the intended holiday usage. That is always a bonus in my book.  On page 35, don’t miss the beautiful Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder. It is not shown with a suite so that it might get overlooked, but this embossing folder makes a stunning background for a masculine card or any card for that madder. The last item I want to point out is a stamp set that was created by a fellow demonstrator named LeeAnn Greff called Life Is Beautiful (pg 51). This stamp set has been so much fun to play with! I bought it because I thought it would be a good stamp set to demonstrate from the new mini that is not strictly a holiday based theme. Then when I started to play with it over the weekend, I realized how fun and easy the stamp set is to work with, and it is only $17.00 US.

ARTISTRY BLOOMS DECORATIVE PAPER

Hello Everyone! I am back at card making after the short detour I made Tuesday sharing the Chocolate No Bake Peanut Bars with you. I hope you have had a chance to make them. You won’t be sorry.

Now onto today’s projects. I am going to honest with you all when I first saw this Artistry Blooms Decorative Paper. I was not the least bit excited about it. I liked a couple of patterns on the paper, but I felt I could do without it, no problem. Well, I have been giving myself challenges each week, and this week it was to order a paper to work with that is not my style. I chose Artistry Blooms DSP. Once my order arrived, I pulled out the DSP and looked at all the different patterns, and you know how we are told that first impressions are not always correct? Well, that works for decorative paper as well. I like it!

SoSentimental_AllCards_ArtistryBlooms_LoriSkinner_StampinUp

I pulled out my So Sentimental Stamp Set and Stitched So Sweetly Dies to create these three cards. I embellished them with Linen Thread and Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels to give them a little sparkle.

SoSentimental_ThankYou_ArtistryBlooms_LoriSkinner_StampinUp

This first card has a color scheme of Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo. The cardbase and die-cut are Rich RazzleBerry cardstock. The sentiment is Melon Mambo & Rich Razzleberry. The Holiday Rhinestone package did not have a purple color so I used my Rich Razzleberry Dark Stampin’ Blend to color the yellow jewels the color I needed and it worked perfectly! I used the coordinating decorative paper to embellish the envelope flap as well.

SoSentimental_HealingHugs_ArtistryBlooms_LoriSkinner_StampinUp

For this card, I started with a Night Of Navy cardbase and the die-cut layer is Bermuda Bay. I used the ever beautiful Bermuda Bay and Night Of Navy for the sentiment.

SoSentimental_Friendship_ArtistryBlooms_LoriSkinner_StampinUp

For my last card, I used Calypso Coral cardstock for the cardbase and die-cut layer and Calypso Coral Ink for the sentiment.

I am super happy with the way the projects turned out! As you can see, these cards can be duplicated in a matter of minutes and are great for any level of crafter.

Quick reminder that you only have until Aug 3rd to take part in Stampin’ Up!’s Bonus Days exclusive. For every $50 (US) before shipping and tax, you earn a $5 Bonus Days coupon code (that will be emailed to you) that can be used Aug 4 – 31, 2020! Get your wish list ready and start shopping HERE
