Hello there, my fellow crafter. Thanks for joining me today. Usually, I already have my Christmas cards all made and ready to send out by this time of the year. Not this year. As is everything inconvenient and crazy about 2020, you would think that as I have been sitting on the couch healing my leg up, I would have all the time in the world to get my Christmas cards done, right? Nope as I said, not this year.
Last month Stampin’ Up! held its annual convention online for all of us demonstrators that wanted to attend. One of the best things about attending an SU convention besides seeing my fellow SU friends is the stamping presentation. Several talented SU employees demonstrate different stamp sets and show us demos super cute cards and projects using new upcoming products (you will get to see them soon)!!! It is so much fun to see all of the creative ways the different presenters develop unique ways to use the products and their fun and sometimes simple card layouts. That is where I got my inspiration for this card. The layout came directly from my On Stage @Home convention. It is a super fast and simple card idea and is perfect for creating multiples.
I started with a classic Christmas color scheme, Shaded Spruce, and Cherry Cobbler. I paired these colors with the fun Tis The Season Decorative Series Paper and the Perfectly Plaid stamp set. If you haven’t taken a look at this paper yet, you can see it here. This paper is great! I love DSP that has a large scale pattern, but when making several Christmas cards, it is easier to make a variety of layouts if you have a smaller patterned DSP. It is more versatile in projects.
To finish my project, I stamped the plaid tree using Shaded Spruce ink, then cut it out using the Pine Tree Punch. I added a Linen Thread Bow and a cute star from the All The Trimmings Embellishments. I love how this card turned out! It took about 10 minutes from start to finish, and that included cutting the cardstock. So as I said, this would be a great card for a stamp-a-stack and getting those holiday cards done and out.

Hello, my friends! As I was writing this blog post, my home was already smelling like Thanksgiving. I had a Pumpkin Pie cooling on the counter, roasted turkey wings and veges boiling on the stove for my stock for the yummy gravy, and my turkey breast from the Honey Baked Ham store is thawing. Yes, The Honey Baked Ham Store has turkeys. They also have roast beef and ribs! Since my Thanksgiving will be just 5 of us, I thought a turkey breast would be perfect.
This year has been full of so many compromises, changes, and surprises, I thought that I would embrace it and keep it simple. I will help my hubby make the dinner, which is a big switch on our cooking rolls, and then we will chat with all my loved ones that are celebrating at their homes this year and call it a day.
With all that 2020 has thrown us, it makes me feel so blessed to have a healthy family filled with so much love and happiness for each other. It is a gift I cherish the most.
Another gift I cherish is my Stampin’ Up! business. I have always known that I am a person who needs an artistic element in my life, and I am blessed to have a job that fulfills that artistic need in my life. In the 13 years that I have been an SU Demonstrator, I have been blessed to have customers who have become my dear friends and to have the opportunity to watch people’s eyes light up with them see what they can create with paper, ink, and stamps. Without you all, I wouldn’t have this fulfilling career, and I am thankful for you. I love my life!
I wish you and your loved ones a very blessed Thanksgiving full of love and laughter.
