Welcome back! Today I am sharing another card I made using the Artfully Layered stamp set for a special friend. I wanted to tell her thank you for being such a sweet friend.
I will be honest with you. When the new Jan-June Mini Catalog was released, I wasn’t thrilled with this Artfully Composed Suite of products. The only item I was excited about was the Faux Sea Glass Shapes (these should be back in stock on April 4th). I have a massive bucket of sea glass that I have been gathering all my life. So, of course, I was super stoked to see these new embellishments I haven’t used yet, lol. Now I stand corrected. This Artfully Layered stamp set is so easy to work with. I love it!
I started by stamping the same Monstera leaf image onto the Basic White cardstock, starting with the center image in Black, the right leaf is Calypso Coral, and the left leaf is Just Jade.
When stamping multiple images in a row, I always start with the center image to better gauge the placement of the other stamps, so the images are evenly spaced.
Once you are done with the stamping, you can assemble the card then go onto the sentiment layers.
It may be hard to see, but after I stamped the Thank You sentiment onto the Calypso Coral cardstock. I took my Wink of Stella Pen and lightly traced the sentiment to get a bit of bling.
I created the rough texture on the cardstock for the sentiment layer by using the faux suede technique. It is super easy to do. I took my Just Jade cardstock strip and my Bone Folder and ran the bone folder over the cardstock strip several times (like you were curling the edges). Repeat this on both sides of the cardstock until the cardstock edges start to separate. Then gently separate the paper layers. Repeat if you come across a piece that is not entirely separated.
