You may not realize it, but living in Napa, we wake up to quite a few gray and damp mornings. And on those mornings it looks and feels like I should be wearing my rainboots. I made this card bright a cheery card to combat those dreary winter blues that come on after to many gray misty mornings. I am definitely a blue sky kind of girl!
Can you see the fabulous striped DSP in the background? It is the new Pleased As Punch DSP that Stampin’ Up! just released Tuesday. I just love it, don’t you?
After I stamped the rainboots onto my 1 ¾” Whisper White cardstock, I used stampin Blends to color them in. I use the darker shade of Blends on the outer edge, then use the lighter shade in the middle of the image and then to soften the harsh edge of the darker shade. I used the light Smokey Slate to add shading to the bottom of the rainboots.
I bet you want to know how I stamped the raindrops without getting them on the rainboots? I stamped the rainboot image onto post-it notes and cut them out. I then placed the post-it notes rainboots over the colored images and stamped away. Now I have bright beautiful rainboots and the raindrops help highlight them.
Thanks for stopping by today and see you soon.
Happy Stamping!
